WHO IS BEHIND SILENCE IS COMPLICITY
We are a small network of individuals active on the German radical left. We are entirely without affiliation or funding.WHY IS THE LETTER ONLY A CALL FOR ACTION TO DENOUNCE GENOCIDE AND OCCUPATION, AND NOT MORE SPECIFIC DEMANDS
We leave it to groups to set demands of how they want to engage with their alliances themselves. Decentralized, the struggle can stay open to a multitude of strategies and different needs for solidarity.WHAT'S THE NEED FOR A LIST OF SIGNATORIES
The two lists of Signatories, from within and outside of Germany, is to map alliances and show who can be reached out to for support. Of course simultaneously taking a public position is also a great tool for groups inside Germany to reference to, in our internal struggles on the subject of the Genocide. We ask you to sign on for visibility, sign up and put pressure on your German alliances.WHAT EXACTLY ARE THE SIGNATORIES AGREEING TO DO
Signatories agree to engage in conversation with their alliances in Germany and their silence on Palestine. Make your demand: No more silence, demand an official written position on the Genocide and Occupation. As long as the conversation is ongoing, you can if you wish, put your cooperation on hold - demand a public stance if they want to be your allies. Don't be shy to make it public if they deflect, derail and use other corporate strategies to keep the silencing going. For groups mostly active inside of the German borders, feel free to sign as well and show that you appreciate support in your struggles - making it visible is an important step as well.WHAT IS MEANT BY RADICAL LEFT
There's no need for clearcut definitions. Broadly speaking radical positions are anti-authoritarian in approach, this can apply to a myriad of groups and the intersections of anti-fascist and squatting scenes, no-borders milieu and groups engaged in anti-racist work in general, academia, climate justice movement and queer post-colonialisms to name a few as we see it.CONTACT
You can contact us via this formular - but we want to decentralise the struggle, so first and foremost feel free to use this petition as a tool to raise awareness, take initiative yourself and share it in your movements.WHAT ARE THE ANTI-DEUTSCHE
The anti-deutsche are a German-only zionist train of thought, that arose in 1970'ies in Germany on the left wing. Rather than a political organisation it is a set of politics centered around universities that see Germans as having an exceptional privilege because their perceived responsibility of understanding the jewish genocide of the 30'ies and 40'ies. This German-centric politics coopts Marxism and instrumentalizes Jewish identity, whereby the anti-deutsche create a special German nationalism specifically aimed at people racialized as Muslims. The contract of how one is accepted on the German left, is exactly tandem to the demands of the German state: non-Germans must assimilate by internalizing the German guilt complex and support the state of Israel unconditionally.
